Sarah Rowe

My name is Sarah Rowe and I come from northern British Columbia, in Fort St John. My parents and sister are ranchers there and involved in a Bible Camp that I have worked at the last 6 summers.

I became a Christian when I was 9 after a powerful AWANA speaker. My parents insisted that I attend AWANA, VBS, youth group, Sunday school and Bible camp. I would go to events and receive huge spiritual highs, and then go back to school and my non-Christian friends and struggle through the days. When I was 15, my parents decided that where we lived near Camrose, Alberta, was too dry. My dad wanted to do more ranching and there just wasn’t the land to do that. So, in summer 2002, we moved up to Fort St John. I had the worst winter in my life – we had no home because all the places were too expensive, so we lived in the yard of someone from church. I had no friends because I was homeschooling, and the church we attended had no youth. However, through that hard time, God became my best friend and I learned to depend on Him for all of my needs, especially emotional ones.

Since that winter I have found many amazing friends, including my husband. We met at the Bible camp, became friends and got married on December 28, 2007. The last 3 years I have been the Horsemanship Coordinator at SCA Blueberry Ministry Centre and Bible camp, and am employed by SCA International as a missionary. We (Kent & I) are in the process of becoming field missionaries with them, working under Jezreel.

I met Jezreel at Blueberry through music festivals through the years and the teen camp they have worked at. This year, Kent was helping me with the horse program when Jezreel came along. We were looking for something to do after camp, and what started as a joking “you guys should come with us” turned into serious prayer.

I am so thrilled to be with Jezreel -- using my gifts for God’s glory. I am singing and helping Marlynn with administration. I hope and pray that wherever I go during my time with Jezreel, that God will be glorified and Christ will grow me to become more like Him.
