Nathan Braun

As of January 2, 2009, Nathan and Shandell Braun rejoined the ministry. Through a series of events, God brought them to the place where they are ready to come back into the ministry. Nathan served in areas of teaching, working on curriculum to teach the members of the ministry, running the sound board and most recently being the drummer for Jezreel, after Kolten left the ministry to prepare for marriage. Shandell, of course, is using the gift of singing and songwriting that God gave her.

Nathan married Shandell on May 19th 2007 in a very Christ-centered wedding and lived a life of ministry near Vancouver, BC.

We thank the Lord for Nathan's service to the Lord through his key roles in the Jezreel Music Ministry.

Nathan's Bio: In 2002, I started attending Millar College of the Bible (located in Pambrun, Saskatchewan, Canada). Near the end of the first semester of my third year I realized that I wouldn’t have enough money to return for the coming semester.

During the time that I was praying about what to do for the coming semester I wrote Shandell (as I have in the past) and asked her and her family to pray for direction for me in the coming year.

When Norm and Marlynn heard this they prayed and offered to have me join Jezreel as rhythm guitarist. After praying about it, I felt that God wanted me to join Jezreel, even though I couldn’t understand why He choose me, an amateur guitarist (who had been focusing on playing the drums for the last three years!) to be a part of the amazing ministry that He had called the Vike’s to a couple years earlier. I felt like Moses when God told him to go and bring the Israelites out of Egypt (Ex. 3-4) but I was also encouraged by the fact that God told Moses (and has also promised us) that He would be with him and that He would teach him what to say.

It was tough for me to step out of Bible College only half a semester from graduating, leaving all my friends that I had become close to in the last couple years. But in this huge step of faith God has taught me, or reminded in a very big way that man plans his steps but the Lord directs his steps and that His ways are not my ways. It didn’t make sense to step out of College when I did, but has shown me in the short time that I have been with Jezreel, that it doesn’t matter what makes sense, all that matters is that we seek God’s will and do it!

Hobbies and Interests: I love playing guitar and drums and playing around on the piano; I enjoy many sports, but my favorites are snowboarding, skateboarding, hockey, and volleyball. From time to time I do some pencil sketching and write poetry.
